Balls were leaving the ballpark in Winston-Salem Friday evening like they had somewhere better to be. All told, the game featured nine home runs between NC State and Wake Forest. Thankfully for the Wolfpack, they powered five of those homers, defeating the home team Demon Deacons by a score of 13-7.
Wake Forest jumped out 2-0 in the bottom of the first on a Brock Wilken flyball that happened to carry over the fence with a little assistance from the wind for a two-run homer. NC State would tack on an unearned run in the top of the 2nd thanks to a Wake Forest error, and subsequently tie the game at 2 apiece in the 3rd inning on a Tyler McDonough two-out solo home run.
