Big man Jaylon Gibson announced via Twitter on Thursday that he is committed to NC State. Gibson, who is a member of the 2020 class, originally signed with Wake Forest last fall but received his release after the Deacs fired Danny Manning.
Gibson told The Wolfpacker that he was also considering Syracuse and Miami because he wanted to stay in the ACC, but the Pack had a significant advantage by being close to home.
He’s an interesting prospect—listed at 6’11 and 200 pounds by 247Sports, he’s not highly-rated nationally, but he also went through a significant growth spurt in high school while maintaining some wing-player skills.
