NC State athletics officials ended days of rumors and speculation during a press conference Tuesday afternoon, making public a new five-year agreement to wallop the ever-living crud out of North Carolina in football. Athletics director Debbie Yow and head football coach Dave Doeren were on hand at the announcement.
“While we were satisfied with this most recent three-year winning streak, we felt like the department needed a more solid direction,” Yow explained. “And with this new streak, we feel like we’ve found it. I’m thrilled to introduce it to you all today.”
The athletics department conducted an exhaustive nation-wide search to find the best fit for the school, and while the school’s athletics budget has grown substantially in recent years, Yow said that there was still a desire for practicality.
