Whatever shot NC State had at landing in the Orange Bowl went up in smoke with the Wolfpack’s loss to Wake Forest on Saturday, but the team is still in position to land a pretty good bowl game, especially if it takes care of business against UNC next weekend.
Here are the scenarios from Joe Giglio, who is about as well-connected with the ACC’s bowl affiliates as anybody.
With a win next week, NC State appears headed somewhere in Florida, with the Camping World Bowl in Orlando the apparent frontrunner. In the event that the Citrus Bowl does not pick an ACC school this year (it’s one of the games obligated to take an ACC team three times in every six-year period) and Virginia Tech isn’t in the Orange Bowl, State would end up in the Gator Bowl.
