NC State started fast and finished strong to down Kentucky on Monday night and advance to the Sweet Sixteen for the second year in a row. It was an excellent bounce-back effort from the Wolfpack offense and the Wildcats picked an especially bad day to shoot the ball poorly.
Factors
The Pack scored 25 points in the first quarter and for the most part kept Kentucky at arm’s length despite struggling with turnovers all night. Kentucky turned the ball over only five times and finished +11 in that category, which prevented the final result from being considerably worse for the Wildcats.
