The worst teams on the schedule do at least have the redeeming quality of making some history more likely to occur. Markell Johnson took advantage of The Citadel’s diminutive lineup on Sunday night to record his first career triple-double, finishing with 11 points, 10 assists, and 10 rebounds.
It is the fourth triple-double in NC State men’s basketball history, and all of them have happened in this century. Julius Hodge was the first to accomplish the feat, doing so back in 2002 with a line similar to Johnson’s: 11 points, 10 assists, 12 boards.
