On Friday, Joe Giglio reported that NC State had hired Oklahoma City Thunder scout Andrew Slater to be their General Manager of Men’s Basketball. Prior to joining the Thunder, Slater was one of the most nationally connected and influential recruiting analysts in the high school, AAU, and college ranks.
I reached out to a few recruiting insiders to get their take on what the addition of Slater would mean for the Wolfpack.
Corey Evans, who is also currently a scout for Oklahoma City and was formerly a National Recruiting Analyst for Rivals.com, had this to say: “Don’t think it’s done by any means—but if they can make it happen, it would be a grand slam hire and pick up.
