If you just saw the final score, you probably wouldn’t figure that NC State went into the fourth quarter with a three-point deficit, but it was a pretty confusing game for the majority. That the Wolfpack offense would struggle as badly as it did was a bit inexplicable, though things changed quickly in the fourth quarter.
Devin Leary and his receivers were essentially the sum total of the offense what with Louisville stone-walling the ground game all night. That didn’t look like it was going to be enough to turn this game around, but then Leary hit Trent Pennix on a nifty fake toss play for a 29-yard score.
