According to Joe Giglio of WRALSportsFan, NC State’s NCAA violations case surrounding the recruitment of Dennis Smith Jr. has been recommended to the Independent Accountability Resolution Process.
The IARP “includes investigators, legal advocates and decision-makers with no direct ties to NCAA member schools, instead of the traditional process of using a Committee on Infractions.”
Here’s the catch. The difference between the final decision of the IARP versus a traditional NCAA hearing, is that the IARP’s decision is final. There is no appeal process.
NC State has to respond by April 14th.
