Jarkel Joiner started his college career at CSU Bakersfield. Over two seasons, he averaged 17.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game, earning All-WAC honors. His scoring, playmaking abilities, and non-stop motor put him on the map and had larger programs showing interest.
He transferred to Ole Miss for the 2021-22 season and played two seasons with the Rebels. Over those two years, Joiner averaged 12.4 points, 3.2 assists, and 3.1 rebounds per game. He became a consistent 3-level scorer, while still being able to get his teammates involved. One of his coaches at Ole Miss was Levi Watkins, a former NC State forward.
