FSU quarterback Deondre Francois’ status uncertain for NC State game

Florida State starting quarterback Deondre Francois went down late in the Seminoles’ blowout loss to Clemson, and head coach Willie Taggart said Monday that he was day-to-day. Francois has been limited in practice this week.

It doesn’t sound like he’s been able to do much of anything over the last couple of days, which does not bode well for his availability this weekend. If he cannot play, James Blackman would take his place. Blackman has attempted only five passes all season, but he started every game last season after Francois suffered a season-ending injury against Alabama.

Francois reclaimed the job before this season and has been decent—about as decent as anybody could be behind such a poor offensive line, anyhow.
