ESPN’s 64-person bracket of college basketball’s all-time greats, which includes both men and women, was revealed on Thursday, and of course it’s a bit of a mess. For one thing, there are too many one-and-done dudes in the field. And the old-school guys tend to be underseeded.
David Thompson, for example, managed just a No. 4 seed, and he’s in a region where Michael Jordan is a two-seed. They went and got that backward. Zion Williamson and Trae Young are a couple of the one-and-doners who have no business in this field, on account of their brief careers and the fact that they didn’t win a damn thing in college.
