NC State had an assistant coaching vacancy since Rob Moxley announced in early March that he'd be assuming a new role within the basketball program. One possible replacement is former Oklahoma State and LSU assistant Butch Pierre; in fact there is a "good chance" NCSU will hire Pierre, per ESPN's Jeff Goodman.
Pierre has been in coaching for 30 years, and even served briefly as an assistant for Bobby Lutz at Charlotte. From there, he moved to LSU, where he quickly established a reputation as an outstanding recruiter, helping the Tigers land the likes of Glen Davis, Tyrus Thomas, Anthony Randolph, Stromile Swift, Brandon Bass.
