BTP The Offseason, Day 111: The Ivies contemplate a spring football schedule

From a football perspective, the Ivy League has some advantages relative to the rest of FCS/FBS in dealing with coronavirus-related problems. For one thing, those schools don’t tend to play 12-13 game seasons. They’re also tightly bunched together, so no plane travel would be necessary for any of them if they played a conference-games-only season.

As TMG Sports’ Mark Blaudschun reports, that’s what league officials are considering, whether that shortened season begins in September or gets moved instead to the spring.

Their logistics are far simpler than those of most conferences, especially at the FBS level, where expansion has strained geographic logic.
