Manny Bates had a historic Freshman season at NC State, leading the ACC in blocks, averaging 2.9 per game. He is the 1st Freshman to lead the conference in blocks since 2003, when Georgia Tech’s Chris Bosh did.
Bates became only the 2nd player in school history to lead the ACC in blocks, joining BeeJay Anya. His 83 blocks in 2019-20 were the 3rd most in school history in a single season, but his 2.9 blocks per game are the best in school history.
Below is the ACC Digital Network’s Freshman year highlight reel for Bates.
