As the game ended, celebrations began and trophy raised, you could sense the relief from all players and staff. After an abrupt ending to last season, they had found a way to climb the mountain all over again.
But after all that, State might not be a #1 seed?
According to ESPN’s Charlie Creme, their women’s basketball bracketology guru, State is a #2 seed. Stanford, UCONN, South Carolina and Texas A&M, all were listed as one’s.
What the f*ck…
- State won their conference tournament (Texas A&M didn’t make it to the Finals of SEC Tourney)
- They became just the third team in the last couple decades to beat two #1’s in a single season (Looking at you South Carolina)
- One of their loses was in overtime without their best player in Cunane.
