CARY, N.C. – After reaching the semifinal round of the ACC Championship for the first time in program history, the NC State men’s tennis team saw its run at the conference tournament come to an end as it was defeated by top-seeded Wake Forest, 4-2, Saturday at the Cary Tennis Park.
The decision moves the Wolfpack to 18-10 on the season, while the Demon Deacons improve to 28-3.
A competitive doubles point came down to a tiebreaker on the deciding court.
42nd-ranked Alexis Galarneau and Michael Ogden defeated No. 64 Alan Gojiev and Borna Gojo 6-4 on court one after Wake Forest took the first match on court three.
