#12 NC State’s errors were costly this afternoon, leading to an 8-3 loss to Ohio State in the first game of the Jax College Baseball Classic.
Junior Dominic Fritton gave up one earned run in 4.2 innings, striking out four. Unfortunately, the Buckeyes also scored four unearned runs while Fritton was on the mound. In the top of the third, sophomore third baseman Ryan Jaros made a throwing error with the bases loaded and no outs, allowing two Ohio State runners to cross the plate. In the top of the fifth, with two outs, the Buckeyes reached first due to a fielding error by Fritton.
