SpaceX’s Starlink is a satellite internet constellation that aims to provide high-speed internet access to remote areas of the world. The project was launched in 2015, and since then, SpaceX has launched over 1,500 satellites into orbit. The goal is to provide internet access to areas that are currently underserved or unserved by traditional internet providers.
The Starlink constellation consists of small satellites that orbit the Earth at an altitude of around 550 kilometers. These satellites are much closer to the Earth than traditional communication satellites, which orbit at around 36,000 kilometers. This proximity allows for faster internet speeds and lower latency.
