The History of Internet Access in Tuvalu

Related Topics: Tuvalu

Tuvalu is a small island nation located in the Pacific Ocean. It is one of the smallest countries in the world, with a population of just over 11,000 people. Despite its small size, Tuvalu has made significant strides in terms of internet access over the past few decades.

The history of internet access in Tuvalu dates back to the early 2000s. At that time, the country had very limited internet connectivity, with only a few government offices and businesses having access to the internet. The internet was primarily accessed through dial-up connections, which were slow and unreliable.

In 2007, the Tuvalu government signed an agreement with the Pacific Islands Telecommunications Association (PITA) to improve internet connectivity in the country.
