Dallas Stars forward Ales Hemsky underwent surgery for a torn labrum in his hip and will miss five to six months, the team announced on Monday.
Stars general manager Jim Nill said the injury happened during the World Cup of Hockey during the offseason. Hemsky missed Dallas' first four games after suffering what the team called a groin injury while playing for the Czech Republic. He played in only one game on Oct. 22 before re-injuring himself and then going on injured reserve.
