OTTAWA -- The Ottawa Senators got here by playing stingy defense. They've survived with a relentless patience that comes with a trap that has frustrated the opposition to no end.
In Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals, the Senators flexed a muscle that was new to them in a postseason that is starting to be a bit magical -- a good old-fashioned romp.
It started with a goal from Mike Hoffman 48 seconds into the game and the Senators piled on from there, beating the Pittsburgh Penguins 5-1 to open a 2-1 series lead.
