Sabres' David Legwand Scores Goal from Deep in Own Zone vs. Blue Jackets

Trying to kill some time on a Columbus Blue Jackets power play, Buffalo Sabres center David Legwand decided to just clear the puck and make the opposition reset.

Crazily, he wound up putting the puck on net and scoring from deep in his own zone.

Late in the first period, Legwand fired the puck the length of the ice, a "shot" that Columbus goalie Joonas Korpisalo should have had no problem handling. Instead, the puck skipped past the netminder for a goal.

The 35-year-old Legwand has scored 228 goals in his career but none quite this unbelievable—although he has scored from beyond center ice before.
