Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James and musician Drake are set to be executive producers on the upcoming documentary Black Ice, which will focus on racism in hockey throughout its history, per Etan Vlessing of The Hollywood Reporter.
The film, from Uninterrupted Canada and James' and Maverick Carter's The SpringHill Company, will "spotlight the historical marginalization of Black hockey players from the early pioneers of the Colored Hockey League in Maritimes Canada to today’s National Hockey League and its paltry number of Black players."
Black Ice will be directed by Canadian filmmaker Hubert Davis (Hardwood, Giants of Africa).
