Since the NHL draft, Phil Kessel's name has been floated around as a possible trade target for teams around the NHL. On Wednesday, those rumors finally came to fruition, as Kessel was dealt to the Pittsburgh Penguins.
According to Nick Kypreos of Sportsnet, the Toronto Maple Leafs dealt Kessel to the Penguins in exchange for Kasperi Kapanen, Scott Harrington and a draft pick. Elliotte Friedman of Hockey Night in Canada confirmed the report, while James Mirtle of the Globe and Mail reported the pick was a first-round selection.
