Penguins' Sidney Crosby Undergoes Surgery on Core Injury; out at Least 6 Weeks

The Pittsburgh Penguins announced Thursday that superstar center Sidney Crosby underwent successful surgery on a core muscle injury and is expected to miss a minimum of six weeks.

Crosby's injury is the latest in a string for the Penguins, who are also without Kris Letang and Patric Hornqvist. Letang is week-to-week with a lower-body injury and Hornquist will miss more time with a lower-body injury of his own, per Mike Morreale of NHL.com.

Injuries were a major problem for the 32-year-old earlier in his career, but he has improved his durability as he has gotten older.
