Penguins acquire Mikael Granlund, trade Teddy Blueger

The Pittsburgh Penguins acquired forward Mikael Granlund from the Nashville Predators on Wednesday in exchange for a 2023 second-round draft pick.

Granlund, 31, recorded 36 points (nine goals, 27 assists) in 58 games with Nashville this season. He is currently signed through the 2024-25 season and has an average annual value of $5 million.

“Mikael is a versatile forward, able to play either wing or center, and contribute offensively,” Penguins general manager Ron Hextall said. “He has experience on both the power play and penalty kill and can add options to our lineup.
