A game of inches. You hear it all the time, and game one at Bell MTS Place in Winnipeg was exactly that. With rookie goaltender Jordan Binnington in net for the Blues, there had been some debate if he would weather the storm in front of the hostile crowd. Just 30 seconds into the game, Jets forward Mark Scheifele ran into the Blues goalie Binnington. Scheifele went to the box, but it sort of set the tone for the battle on Wednesday night as he was the focus for the first period. Every time Binnington came to play the puck, he heard a chorus of boo’s from the Winnipeg faithful.
