Oilers' McDavid becomes youngest captain ever

Connor McDavid was announced as captain of the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday, making the 19-year-old the youngest to get the honor in NHL history.

The No. 1 overall pick in 2015, who is 19 years and 266 days old, edges Colorado's Gabriel Landeskog, who was 20 days older when he received the honor in 2012. Sidney Crosby was 11 days older than that when the Pittsburgh Penguins named him permanent captain in 2007.
