The Edmonton Oilers have a 1-0 lead in the Western Conference Final after besting the Dallas Stars 3-2 in a double-overtime thriller Thursday night thanks to a Connor McDavid game-winning goal.
The Oilers took a 1-0 lead after Leon Draisaitl scored the game's first goal in the second period, and Zach Hyman gave Edmonton some insurance shortly after. Dallas responded in the second to cut into the deficit after a goal from Tyler Seguin.
The Oilers held a 2-1 lead for much of the third period, but the final minutes proved decisive as Seguin scored with less than four minutes to play.
