The Carolina Hurricanes have agreed to a multi-year extension with head coach Rod Brind'Amour, according to NHL reporter Kevin Weekes.
The news comes two days after the Hurricanes were eliminated from the second round in six games by the New York Rangers.
Brind'Amour, who won the 2006 Stanley Cup as a player with the Hurricanes, has spent six seasons as Carolina's head coach.
Under his tenure the Hurricanes have earned a 278-130-44 regular-season record and qualified for six straight postseasons.
