The Seattle Kraken are working on an extension for restricted free agent Matthew Beniers, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported.
The contract could be in the range of $7 million annually over seven seasons, for a total around $50 million, Friedman reported.
Beniers, the 2022-23 Calder Trophy winner and No. 2 pick of the 2021 draft, is currently a restricted free agent.
The 21-year-old recorded 15 goals and 37 points in 77 games for the Kraken last season.
