The NHL is reportedly set to add a 31st team, settling on Las Vegas over Quebec City to receive an expansion franchise as early as the 2017-18 season.
According to Greg Beacham of the Associated Press, a source close to the situation said a Las Vegas expansion team is a "done deal" as long as organizers are able to pay a $500 million expansion fee.
Per ESPN.com, the NHL board of governors will vote on the matter June 22.
Provided the Las Vegas franchise is accepted by the league, the team will play its games at T-Mobile Arena after having already received 13,200 season-ticket deposits, according to Beacham.
