Patrick Kane is entering his third era.
The three-time Stanley Cup champion is expected to debut with his newest team, the Detroit Red Wings, when they host the San Jose Sharks on Thursday at Little Caesars Arena.
Kane spent 16 seasons with the Chicago Blackhawks and wrapped up 2022-23 with the New York Rangers before becoming a free agent in the offseason. He signed with the Red Wings in late November after undergoing and rehabbing from hip resurfacing surgery.
And Detroit, based on its play, seems excited to welcome him.
The Red Wings are 3-1 since Kane's signing was announced, scoring five goals in each of the wins and climbing to third-best in the league through Tuesday with 3.
