The Arizona Coyotes and Derick Brassard have agreed to a one year deal for this season. At 33 years-old, Brassard feels his has more to give and signed on to a team friendly, $1.2 million contract.

“I think this team is heading in the right direction,” Brassard said yesterday. “It just made sense for me to come here. I’m looking forward to meeting my new teammates.”
After giving the Islanders some additional depth scoring last season, the Coyotes are looking for more from him this year. Brassard will be replacing former New York Rangers teammate, Derek Stepan who was traded to Ottawa recently.
