The 2015-16 season is proving to be the year of the Panther, as South Florida’s underdog team has skyrocketed to the top of the Atlantic division.
Many attribute the Panthers’ recent success to the developing young guns Aaron Ekblad and Aleksander Barkov, and the offensive powerhouse that is the legendary Jaromir Jagr. But in addition to major improvements on both offense and defense, the Panthers are experiencing something they haven’t seen in a while: solid goaltending.
In recent years, the Panthers have endured a notoriously rocky goaltending situation. Pairs like Jose Theodore and Scott Clemmensen could never seem to find their groove, both earning some of the worst save percentages and goals against averages of their careers while playing with the Panthers.
