John Scott Is Rightfully an All-Star, but the NHL Shouldn't Let It Happen Again

The NHL announced on Tuesday that John Scott is going to the All-Star Game after all. It was the right decision. At this point, it was the only sane option available to the league.

Scott, who was selected as captain of the Pacific Division by fan vote, had been traded on Friday to the Montreal Canadiens and was promptly assigned to the AHL.

Veteran reporter Bob McKenzie went on Toronto’s TSN 1050 that same afternoon and unequivocally stated that the deal meant Scott was done as an All-Star.
