These are definitely not the same old Capitals.
Alexander Ovechkin is used to disappointment.
In the ten seasons since Ovechkin was drafted by the Washington Capitals first overall in 2004, he has been a part of some great teams. In that span, Washington has finished first in their division five times, even winning a President’s Trophy. Yet Ovechkin and the Capitals never fail to disappoint in the postseason, including a collapse that occurred just five months ago.
This year, however, things seem different in our nation’s capital. While everyone is focused on the Canadiens’ historic run, the Capitals are quietly off to a hot start.
