The area, known for the 1986 nuclear disaster, has long struggled with limited connectivity due to its remote location and damaged infrastructure. However, Starlink’s high-speed internet service is changing that.
Starlink, a subsidiary of SpaceX, launched its first batch of satellites in 2019 with the goal of providing high-speed internet to underserved areas around the world. The company has since launched hundreds of satellites into orbit and has begun offering its service to customers in select areas.
Chernobyl is one of those areas.
