With Seattle potentially on the verge of landing an NHL expansion franchise, the governor of Washington may have accidentally revealed the team's name Friday.
According to Q13 News, Governor Jay Inslee made mention of the Seattle Totems when talking about the possibility of a high-speed rail between Seattle and Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
"We cannot wait to get on a high-speed rail line to come up and have the greatest hockey rivalry in North American which is the Seattle Totems versus the Vancouver Canucks," Inslee said.
Q13 News added that "Totems" was one of 13 possible names that Oak View Group registered for the franchise in January.
