Detroit Red Wings legend and Hockey Hall of Famer Gordie Howe underwent a second round of treatment with stem cells Monday as his family attempts to improve his quality of life following a stroke last October.
Ken Campbell of The Hockey News passed along the update from Murray Howe, the longtime winger's son. He said there would be no further comments until the clinical trial ends:
Our dad continues to participate in a clinical trial where stem cells are being used in the treatment of a stroke. We'd like to wait until the first phase of that clinical trial is complete before providing any more updates.
