Philadelphia Flyers center Sean Couturier has won the Frank J. Selke Trophy for the first time in his career, an award given to the top defensive forward in the NHL.
Couturier earned the most votes over finalists Patrice Bergeron of the Boston Bruins and St. Louis Blues forward Ryan O'Reilly.
The 27-year-old had been a finalist for the Selke in the past, but he was finally recognized for the honor after a breakout 2019-20 season. He excelled in all phases of the game, including his 59 points in 69 games that ranked second on the Flyers.
