Buffalo Sabres winger Evander Kane won't face charges after an investigation into a sexual encounter from last December found no wrongdoing.
Per Dan Herbeck and Lou Michel of the Buffalo News, the Erie County District Attorney's Office and Buffalo Police Department determined nothing illegal took place after "a young woman who spent the night with him sought medical treatment at Erie County Medical Center and said she could not remember what happened."
Erie County Acting District Attorney Michael J. Flaherty Jr. issued a statement included in Herbeck and Michel's report:
This investigation was the result of the Buffalo Police following automatic protocols that are in place.
