All 50 yard line markers across the NFL are gold this year in honor of Super Bowl 50 -- the first Super Bowl not to use Roman numerals in its title or marketing materials.
The NFL did not require grounds-crews to paint the entire 50-yard line gold, but the league continues to look to its future by changing up the coloring of its midfield markers and playing up the significance of the Super Bowl's historic upcoming anniversary.
The gold markers made their regular season debut during September 10th's NFL Kickoff Game at Gillette Stadium in New England which pitted the defending Super Bowl champion New England Patriots against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
All subsequent games are slated to utilize the same setup.
