Football season is fast approaching and we’re going to be looking into what that means for the two New York teams. In terms of odds, New York betting market has the Giants at +6500 and the Jets at +1400.
Let’s take a look through some of the other predictions this season.
How the Giants look this season
The NY Giants look to have a slightly more difficult run this season as they start off against the Dallas Cowboys and finish with the Philadelphia Eagles.
They’ll need to get off to a strong start if they want to land anywhere near the top. On November 5th, they’ll have their revenge game against Las Vegas Raiders who traded Darren Waller to the Giants just after extending his contract. That will definitely be the game to watch.
How the Jets look this season
Kicking off the 2023 season, we have Aaron Rodgers being added to the roster from the Green Bay Packers. This already sets the Jets off in good stead as Rodgers is renowned for being a talented player.
Their first game that they play this season will be against the Buffalo Bills that they are likely to lose as it takes a while for them to hit their stride. But don’t lose hope just yet, once they get to the third game with New England Patriots, they’ll start to see more wins.
Why this resurgence would be significant.
Confusingly, neither the Jets nor the Giants actually play in New York City. This has led to some locals demanding that they take the city out of their name because they find it to be misleading.
But the National Football League is a money making machine and seeing as tourists who visit New York will often buy the teams merch because of this, they’re likely to want to keep the city in the name.
New York City is home to 8.6 million people which is far more than the next biggest city, Los Angeles. So, keeping the city within the title of the teams helps out with business ventures such as advertising. This might go against the fanbase and their wishes but, as ever, money always comes first so it’s unlikely that these teams will ever become national teams.
If the teams start to make more of a stir within the tournament itself, it will start to match their level of fame. Their games are already more likely to be televised so if they perform better, it might quell the irritation of the fans.
Obviously, this is all going to take a bit of time. There’s no way to go from the middle of the field to the top of their game in just one season. But if both teams manage to build on their game from last season, they might just be in with a chance of crawling up that board.
Why betting on football is always a good idea.
Get more involved in the game.
Sometimes, you can be watching the game without really watching the game. Maybe you’re just not in the mood or it’s just been a game lacking in excitement. That’s when putting a bet on can help you get more involved.
When your money is on the line, it makes you more interested as it feels like it’s you out there on that field. There’s more power in every play and more interest in every injury. Nothing brings back that gaming spirit more than placing a bet.
Win some extra money.
A bit of extra money in your pocket is never going to be a bad thing. Of course, a bet is still a gamble so there’s no way to be sure that you’re going to make the right decision.
But if you have a good feeling about a certain team and it pays off, then you get to reap the rewards. We don’t recommend you place a bet on every game, but if the odds are right and you’re in the right space, it can help give you an extra cash boost - or at least pay for the beers.
Makes the game more exciting.
Football is always going to be a great game to watch but the way to make it even more exciting is to place a bet. When your money is involved as well, it makes every moment even more nail biting.
You feel like you’re the one making the decisions and running out on that field. The atmosphere is more intense, and the game is a lot more exciting. This is especially true when we get closer to the final rounds of the season.
With all this in mind, who will you be betting on this season?
