The NFL rumors are starting to swirl around what team safety Tyrann Mathieu will play for in 2018. The Arizona Cardinals released Mathieu Wednesday according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport after five seasons in Arizona saving just under $5 million. Mathieu had a solid season for the Cardinals in 2017 racking up 78 tackles, two interceptions, and seven passes defended. Mathieu or also known as the "Honey Badger" because of his hair was drafted in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft. So which teams could sign Mathieu now that he's been released? The Cardinals tried to re-do Mathieu's deal, but he wouldn't take a pay cut. With Mathieu due a $5 million roster bonus and another $13 million in salary guarantees for 2018 and 2019 if he was the on the roster, the Cardinals cut. Although he has battled injuries, Mathieu is one of the NFL's top defensive backs when healthy.
