The Houston Texans ran basic stuff all game last Sunday. It makes sense -- they were locked into their playoff position and wanted to rest key players in front of the playoffs. So they ran a Week 3 or 4 of the preseason offense, the type of stuff that is Day 1 and 2 install in training camp. But just because it's basic doesn't mean it doesn't say anything about your team. Your base stuff is your base stuff because it's what you're best at running. It seems clear to me that Houston feels like its base running play is outside zone, and we saw a lot of that on Sunday.
