Members of the New York Jets organization were mostly unwilling to discuss on the record the impetus for the fight that left Geno Smith with a broken jaw and IK Enemkpali without a job on Tuesday. Reports have since followed that indicated the dispute was over $600 Smith owed Enemkpali for airfare reimbursement from a charity event Smith ultimately was unable to attend.
However, Jets guard Willie Colon says that in the end the details really don’t matter all that much.
“I think at the end of the day, details aren’t really necessary,” Colon said, via quotes distributed by the team.
