Raiders quarterback Derek Carr and Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota are paired here because they suffered almost identical injuries on almost identical plays during their respective games on Saturday afternoon. Both had their right ankles trapped under the body of a big pass rusher tackling them from behind, and both suffered fibula fractures as a result. Neither will play again this season, not even if the Raiders make it to the Super Bowl with backup Matt McGloin. Both will have surgery -- and in fact may have already had it, though that's less likely on Christmas weekend -- to repair the fractures and the likely associated ligament damage.
