In the old days of the previous CBA, draft picks signing didn’t begin in earnest until the Fourth of July. Legendary Giants General Manager George Young pushed it back, saying he didn’t worry about unsigned picks until Bastille Day.
This year, we’re close to having them wrapped up by Flag Day.
With the Rams signing their class en masse yesterday and a few other stragglers, we’re down to 12 unsigned picks. That means 244 of the 256 players picked on the weekend of April 30-May 2 have already put their names on the dotted line.
Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota (second overall), Giants tackle Eric Flowers (ninth), Packers cornerback Damarious Randall (30th) and Patriots defensive tackle Malcom Brown (32nd) are the lone remaining first-rounders.
